Belgian IPA
A hazy straw-blonde IPA with a pronounced, lingering bitterness and a dry, herbal finish. Brewed exclusively with European hops, it leans more classic than New-World, while Belgian yeast adds subtle spice and a clean, dry profile.
Brussels · Since 2016
Authentic, balanced beers from Brussels. Averse to trend hopping. Against the stream when necessary. Finding beauty in simplicity whenever possible.
The current range
Five beers, each brewed with intention, balance and character.

A hazy straw-blonde IPA with a pronounced, lingering bitterness and a dry, herbal finish. Brewed exclusively with European hops, it leans more classic than New-World, while Belgian yeast adds subtle spice and a clean, dry profile.

A golden, full-bodied ale with gentle acidity, soft malt warmth and a dry, elegant finish. Developed over two years, it balances cellar-like character, subtle spice and noble hop bitterness into a refined, expressive beer.

A thirst-quenching blond farmhouse ale with light bitterness and crisp grain notes. The yeast ferments all sugars, leaving a bone-dry, refreshing finish, supported by a subtle acidity and a soft, rustic malt backbone.

A hazy, straw-yellow sour ale with a bright, gentle acidity and almost no bitterness. Lactobacillus shapes the tart profile, while wheat and pilsner malt keep the body light, soft and highly drinkable on warm days.

A dark saison with a surprisingly light body and a dry, refreshing finish. Notes of coffee and caramel meet a restrained bitterness, creating a beer that looks robust but drinks smooth, elegant and highly sessionable.
From a Brussels basement to a modern microbrewery at Greenbizz.

Brasserie Vandekelder started in a small Brussels basement in 2016. Ten Brussels beer lovers, four ingredients — malt, water, hops and yeast — and a lot of curiosity.
In those early days, every brew was an experiment and every bottle a discovery. There was no grand plan: just late-night conversations, trial and error, and the simple satisfaction of making something ourselves.
Hundreds of brewing sessions followed. Over time, that curiosity became a clear approach: brew beers with character, don’t chase every trend, go against the stream when necessary, and find beauty in simplicity whenever possible.
Today, Brasserie Vandekelder has found its home at Greenbizz in Brussels — a place where tradition meets innovation, and where every batch still begins with the same curiosity that started it all in that basement.
Taking shape in Laeken
Greenbizz is a natural fit for Vandekelder: a Brussels community of makers, innovators and entrepreneurs built around responsible enterprise. As the brewery takes shape there, we are working on practical targets around water and energy use, local ingredients, circular packaging and distribution, and social engagement.

01
Work towards reducing water use per litre; reuse rinse water; improve cleaning, heat recovery and insulation; increase organic-waste valorisation.
02
Increase Belgian hop sourcing and introduce organic malt, strengthening shorter supply chains.
03
Increase reuse of bottles and packaging, reduce new packaging and grow lower-impact urban delivery.
04
Work with local and social partners and develop workshops around brewing, hops and sustainability.
